Written By: Hillary Redwine

Our team at Surrogate Solutions would like to wish our intended and recipient fathers a very happy Father’s Day! We are honored that you chose our agency to help you create your family.

In honor of Father’s Day, we are highlighting a few of our recipient dads: Josh Feemster, Myke Yest and Harold Daigle, Evan Huston, and Will Monroe. Read below to learn more about them.

Josh Feemster
Liana (age 3 months)

What is your ideal way to spend Father’s Day?
Snuggled up with Liana and taking a nap

What are you most proud of as a father?
How big she is (LOL)! She’s got her dad’s genes for sure. She’s only three months old, and she’s in six months’ clothes, and they are almost too small for her.

Describe your family in three words.
Strong, goofy, loyal

How do you feel about the surrogate who helped you your family? What would you want to say to her?
Oh man, where to begin? We are so appreciative of our surrogate and her family. The selflessness she and her amazing support system have is truly an act of God. Without her, I wouldn’t be able to truly celebrate days like Father’s Day, and I’d miss out on all these wonderful moments Liana and I share. Our surrogate and her family will always be a part of our family and are the true superheroes of our story! Words can’t explain the gratitude and appreciation we have for her!! She’s amazing!!

Myke Yest & Harold Daigle
Mattie (age 6) and Henderson (age 3)

What is your ideal way to spend Father’s Day?
At a relaxing spa

What are you most proud of as fathers?
We are so proud to have two children who are thriving as they grow up so quickly. They are independent, smart, and kind. They play well with each other and with other friends. If we in some small way helped to instill these skills in our children, that makes us very proud.

Describe your family in three words.
Close, funny, and chaotic

How do you feel about the surrogate who helped you create your family? What would you want to say to her?
Our two surrogates are the most amazing, self-sacrificing, and patient women ever! We consider them our extended family and are so lucky to have them in our lives and the lives of our children! Our message to them is “We love you and are so glad you chose to help us build our family!” While our egg donor was anonymous, we would tell her how thankful we are for her gift of life for both of our children.

Evan Huston
Eli (age 5), Hallie (age 2), and Lyla (age 0
)

What is your ideal way to spend Father’s Day?
I like seeing the kids happy, and let’s face it, when they’re happy, everyone is happy. They’re still pretty young, but my 5-year-old has gotten to the age where he enjoys a large variety of activities. One of our favorite things to do together is camping in the backyard, which includes cooking out and, of course, a fire pit with s’mores. I really enjoy swimming, so hitting the neighborhood pool with the kids is definitely on the agenda. The pools weren’t open last year due to COVID, so I’m really looking forward to that.

What are you most proud of as a father?
It seems simple, but my proudest moment as a father so far was when my son, age 4 at the time, learned how to ride his bike on his own. It was just so exciting to see him pick it up, and I was surprised by how proud I felt at that moment. Now he’s blazing all around the neighborhood, and I’m looking forward to teaching the babies when they’re old enough (already working on the balance bike with my 2-year-old!).

What I’m most proud of personally is bringing this family into existence. Our journey was a herculean effort. My most proud achievement is that my wife and I were able to accomplish it. Overall, across three kids, this journey took about eight years, and it seems like we encountered every challenge you can imagine. All the doctors, lawyers, fertility treatments, multiple donor and gestational carrier searches, failures, and successes along the way, not to mention the lengthy timelines and financial strain associated with all this, but it’s worth it.

Describe your family in three words.
Generous, determined, energetic (I really wanted to say something like “Shrimp Crab Rolls” because if our family were a food that’s what we would be.)

How do you feel about the surrogate who helped you create your family? What would you want to say to her?
Multiple surrogates and donors helped us create our family. Both were selfless acts requiring a substantial sacrifice for very little in return. They should be very proud of what they’ve done for us. They are positive examples and role models for our children and will have a lifelong positive impact on the people our kids become because of their acts of kindness and care.

Will Monroe
Pace (age 5), Land (age 3), and Jude (age 1)

What is your ideal way to spend Father’s Day?
Spending time with my wife and sons (maybe some golf as well)

What are you most proud of as a father?
I am proud of my wife and her courage and strength in creating our family so that I could have the most meaningful title of “father.”

Describe your family in three words.
So. Much. Testosterone.

How do you feel about the surrogate who helped you create your family? What would you want to say to her?
Our gestational carrier is more than just a surrogate. She is family. Knowing her (and her family) has shaped who I am as a father, and I will forever be grateful.

Happy Father’s Day to you all & thank you for sharing your stories!
